A Virtual CFO acts as your part-time Chief Financial Officer giving you strategic financial leadership without the cost of a full-time hire. For construction businesses, this means cash flow forecasting, project profitability reporting, budgeting, KPI dashboards, tax planning, and being a sounding board for major business decisions. We work alongside your existing bookkeeper or accountant, or handle everything end-to-end.

Most accountants focus on compliance preparing your end-of-year financials, filing tax returns, and keeping you on the right side of the IRD. A Virtual CFO is forward-looking. We work with you throughout the year to improve cash flow, identify profit leaks, and build a strategy for growth. Many of our clients keep their existing accountant and use us as the strategic layer on top.

Typically within one to two weeks of signing on. We start with a financial deep-dive to understand your current position, set up your reporting infrastructure, and deliver your first management report. Most clients have a live KPI dashboard within 14 days of onboarding.

Xero is our preferred platform and the one we work best in, but we can work with MYOB and other systems too. If you're not on Xero yet, we can migrate you it's usually straightforward and we handle the whole process.

We ask for a minimum of three months so we have enough time to properly set up your systems and deliver meaningful results. After that, it's month-to-month. We're confident you'll see the value quickly most clients stay with us for years.

Our sweet spot is construction businesses turning over $500k to $20M annually. Below that, a good bookkeeper and annual accountant may be sufficient. Above $20M, you likely need a dedicated in-house CFO though we do support some larger groups as a complement to their internal team.
